13-year-old female arrested for distrubting drugs at school
A 13-year-old girl from Midway, Arkansas is in police custody after being accused of distributing prescription drugs at school.
Police say the incident took place at the Cotter High School in Baxter County, Arkansas.
The eighth grader is facing felony drug charges.
According to police, she brought prescription Xanax pills to school and furnished them to five other students.
Students, who are 7th and 8th graders, consumed the pills on school property Thursday morning.
Each of the students were examined by the school nurse, and all have been suspended from school pending expulsion hearings before the Cotter school board next Thursday.
The 13-year-old girl is being held in a juvenile dention center, and will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court – Juvenile Division at a later date. According to police, the teen stole the pills from her stepfather.
