Accident in Kimberling City involves SSCFPD ladder truck

Ladder Truck 6012 from Station 1 of the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District was en route to a public relations event in Kimberling City today around 9:45 AM when it was struck from behind by another vehicle.
The ladder truck was stopped in a construction zone on State Highway 13 near Lake Shore Drive with two other vehicles behind it heading southbound when a fourth vehicle failed to stop and caused a chain reaction multi-vehicle collision.
The four firefighters on board did not receive any injuries while a passenger from another vehicle was transported to Skaggs Regional Medical Center in Branson with minor injuries. The 2007 Pierce ladder truck was taken out of service for over an hour to inspect the vehicle for any possible damage before confirming it was fully operational and was placed back in service. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
