A man from Mountain Grove who was charged with assaulting his girlfriend’s child in 2006 has been found guilty of first-degree assault with deadly force.
Texas County prosecutor Mike Anderson says when Jamie Paul Bell, 34, shook and beat the little boy it caused severe brain damage that has left him in a vegetative state. Bell told authorities the little boy, who had bruises that covered his entire body, fell face first from a high chair.
The jury has recommended a life sentence, which is 30 years in the state of Missouri, for Bell who is scheduled to be sentenced in January.
