The residents of the Catamount Ridge North community in Branson West held their 11th annual Fall Festival and Weenie Roast on Saturday Oct 8th.
The annual affair was started eleven years ago as a way for residents of this small subdivision to get to know each other and welcome new home owners to the community.
The event often includes local talent and this year singer, songwriter Donnie Young performed some of his songs and kept the evening alive with music.
Donnie and his wife Mary are Catamount Ridge home owners.
This year also featured the chuck wagon and covered wagon owned by Mike & Faye Brown.
The wagons gave the event a Western flavor and included cowboy coffee.
Hot dogs are the choice made since the beginning because of the ease of preparation and the idea of keeping it simple. That gives everyone a chance to visit without preparing a large meal.
Vegetables, salads, and deserts are assigned using the alphabet system. Depending on the first letter of your last name, residents were assigned to bring one of the above

food dishes.

Besides the local Catamount Ridge residents, visitors included police chief Doug Radar and two Branson West police officers plus several friends and relatives of residents.
Perfect weather made for a good time for all.
We opened our meal time with a Pledge of Allegiance led by alderman Mike Brown followed by a meal prayer by resident Jack Cowan. Bill Hamiliton made his debut performance on the keyboard and Art Siler entertained with his harmonica. We also had a flag burning…not the protesting kind. We had an old worn flag and according to proper flag disposal, we burned it reverently on the camp fire while attendees again said the pledge as it burned.
