Wild Game Network to Form Foundation to Benefit Illinois Resort Owners

Ankeny IA (PRWEB) March 30, 2012

Where have all the outdoorsmen and women gone? Competition from organized sports programs, the internet, computer games and a shortened summer vacation season (from 12-15 weeks to as little as 8 weeks) have all resulted in the reality that Illinois Resort Owners are left with a very small window to generate business.

In todays world, changing circumstances have impacted the family vacation. School now starts earlier, with opening dates moving back from Sept 1st to Aug 15th, eliminating half of August for family vacations. In August 2011 the Sports Letter reported that participation in sports by youth increased for the 22nd straight year. Sports such as soccer, softball, hockey, and golf have created travel teams which have led to an increased commitment of family time for sports.

Almost Heaven, West Virginia

With warmer weather here, April is a great time to get back outside, and theres no place better than West Virginia State Parks. This month brings many special springtime activities for all ages and budgets, including camping, hiking, golf, fishing, dinner theaters and vacation getaways.

West Virginia State Parks provide an affordable vacation option close to home, said State Parks Programming Coordinator Sissie Summers. At the same time, the parks are close enough to major populations in surrounding states to reduce transportation costs while providing a true travel destination.

It’s bye Tebow, hi Payton

There was no way John Elway was going to commit to Tim Tebow. That should have been clear all those afternoons during the Denver Broncos’ run to the AFC West title when the fans roared, Tebow put his fist on his forehead and the team president scowled.

Tebow likely won’t even make camp.

The signs were there, screaming loudly, when coach John Fox was given chance after chance to declare Tebow the team’s quarterback next season, yet refused each time. Even Elway’s tepid enthusiasm at season’s end – seen as an endorsement – was actually anything but.
“Well I think Tim has earned the right to be the starting quarterback going into training camp,” he declared, careful to say nothing about what would happen after that.
