You have to urn those ashes

newuniform

Kansas City police are looking for the owner of an urn containing ashes that was found earlier this month on the city’s north side.
Police say someone brought the urn to the Shoal Creek Patrol Division on March 2, saying it was found next to a tree and a sign that had been knocked over.
Detective Aaron Benson says it’s not clear whether the ashes are human or animal.

ONE CANNIBAL, ONE VAMPIRE DECIDE TO MARRY

Newspapers in Sweden reported in January that two of the country’s most heinous murderers apparently fell in love with each other behind the locked doors of their psychiatric institution and, following a 26-day Internet-chat “courtship,” have decided to marry.

Mr. Isakin Jonsson (“the Skara Cannibal”) was convicted of killing, decapitating and eating his girlfriend, and Michelle Gustafsson (“the Vampire Woman”) was convicted of killing a father of four and drinking his blood.

Fish Oil For Depression Strange But True

Fly me to the Mooooon...For me, depression was never simply a mood issue. I had problems focusing on anything, I had difficulty sleeping, and I either ate much too much or barely anything at all. It affected my grades, my career, and my relationships with friends and family. By the time I got to college it was so serious that I ended up in an ER.

I ultimately began getting help for depression, and it did the trick alright. For a while at least. I got my life back together, patched up a lot of friendships, and started dating my future husband. But underneath it all, I knew something was still wrong. When we got the news that we were having a baby, I knew the risks of post partum depression, but I figured since I’d survived such a major depressive episode I could take it.

What was that animal?

A bizarre beast said to combine the characteristics of a kangaroo, dog, rat and deer was captured last week by workers at Prince George’s Hospital Center in Maryland near Washington, D.C.
Technicians on a smoke break wandered near a wooded area and found the strange, nearly hairless animal. The workers took cellphone videos of the beast, and eventually lured it into a cage with Chinese food as bait.

The Ozark Howler – an eyewitness account

Black panther

It’s been awhile since I had read anything referencing the legendary ‘Ozark Howler’ until I received the following email:

Lon – I don’t have any idea what I witnessed Saturday evening (5/28) but it was the most frightening experience of my life. My wife and I were camping at an RV park near Jasper, Arkansas and planned to be there for several days. We arrived early Saturday and got situated soon after.

My wife wanted to look around the area since she had never been in the Ozarks. I was born and raised in the mountains and was familiar with the terrain and wildlife. After we tinkered around the campsite we decided to take a short hike through a nearby valley. There were a few caves and caverns along the way but nothing where I would have guessed any large predator would be living. After walking for an hour we started to head back towards the RV park.
