Chiefs lose another as Detriot annihilates them

Detroit clobbers KC 48-3.

To say the 2011 Kansas City Chiefs are an embarrassment to fans is an understatement.
The hapless crew managed to keep their losing streak alive, being mangled by the Detriot Lions, 48 – 3.
The Detroit Lions used a stout passing attack to rack up 322 yards through the air en route to a 48-3 Week 2 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs at Ford Field on Sunday. Detroit’s defense also forced six Kansas City turnovers.
The Chiefs committed eight penalties for 70 yards in the loss. QB Matt Stafford completed 23 of 39 passes for 294 yards and had four touchdowns for the Lions as they out-gained the Chiefs 411-to-267 in total yards.
Detroit held a 206-yard advantage through the air as Kansas City only had 116 passing yards with WR Calvin Johnson hauling in two TD passes on the day.
In typical Chief’s fashion, during the opening drive of the game, Chiefs S Jon McGraw intercepted a Stafford pass but fumbled the ball on the return, giving the ball back to the Lions. Following the change of possession, Kansas City committed unnecessary roughness and roughing the passer penalties, setting up the Detroit scoring strike.
It was last December when the Chiefs last won a game, and judging by their performance so far, it may be a very long season for the Chiefs and their fans.
