City leaders to take walking tour of the Strip
Branson Mayor Raeanne Presley, members of the Board of Aldermen and city directors will be conducting another orientation walking tour, this time on Highway 76 between Gretna Road and Shepherd of the Hills Expressway.
The purpose is to create action plans designed to identify attributes as well as needs for this commercial neighborhood. For the past two years, city officials and aldermen have been working with residential neighborhoods to develop detailed action plans, and now their attention has focused on Highway 76, Branson’s most notable boulevard.
The tour takes place Thursday, September 22, starting at 6 p.m. from the Best Western Center Pointe Inn, 3215 W. Highway 76. Letters have been sent to business owners along Highway 76 encouraging them to join in the walk; however, all interested residents are invited to participate. Aldermen hope to receive ideas and suggestions from citizens during the tour.
“We have selected your portion of 76 Country Boulevard as the next component in this important planning process,” stated Mayor Presley. “We want the ideas of any future plans to originate from our community members.”
City officials say all of these neighborhood meetings are an integral part of the Branson Community Plan 2030 that the city has been actively working on the past year, and which will go before the Board of Aldermen next month for approval and implementation.
Mayor Presley said the implementation and sustainability of these action plans will depend upon the input and support of the stakeholders and residents both now and in the future.
