Delays possible on Highway 13 next week
MoDot has released the following information regarding work for next week on the Branson West to Kimberling City widening of Highway 13.
Short traffic stops will occur during the week as crews work near the Highway 13 and Joe Bald Road intersections.
Work scheduled:
- Reinstalling traffic signal detector loops at Route 13/Lakeshore Drive intersection[adsenseyu1]
- Installing new traffic signals at Route OO and at Joe Bald/James River Road
- Grading rock for relocated portion of Route 13 west of Stoneridge
- Installing bridge girders for new bridge at south edge of Stoneridge
- Grading dirt and spreading grass seed and mulch along shoulders south of Joe Bald/James River Road
- Relocating utilities between Route OO and Joe Bald/James River Road
Traffic Impacts:
- Short-term traffic stops at Route OO to allow equipment to enter and leave work areas
- Lane closings at Lakeshore Drive for detector loop installation
- Trucks hauling rock and dirt on Stoneridge Center Road
- Large equipment entering and leaving work areas
- Work zone speed limit: 35 mph
(Weather or construction delays could alter the work schedule.)
Project Summary:
- Widen Route 13 to four lanes between Branson West and Joe Bald/James River Road
- Relocate a one-mile section of Route 13 through Stoneridge area
- Install new traffic signals at Route 13 and Business 13 at the south edge of Branson West
- Build right-turn and left-turn lanes in various locations
- Build two new bridges
– Route 13 at the south edge of Stoneridge
– Armadillo Lane over new Route 13 at Stoneridge - Resurface existing Route 13 through Stoneridge business district
- Resurface Route 13 between Joe Bald/James River Road and the Kimberling City bridge
- Prime contractor: Journagan Construction of Springfield
- Project cost: $11.5 million
Scheduled completion: December 2012
