Duggar Family coming to Branson

By Kathee Baird
The family of the TLC reality show “19 Kids and Counting” will be in Branson next month to sign copies of their new book,  “A Love that Multiplies.”
Father Jim Bob Duggar, whose sister, Deanna Duggar-Jordyn, performs in the morning show “A Tribute to John Denver” at the IMAX Entertainment Complex says his family loves coming to Branson and visiting attractions like Silver Dollar City.
Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar were married in 1984 and have 19 children (nine girls and ten boys) and two grandchildren.  According to their show pay cash for most things and are debt free.
The Duggars are conservative Christians, and due to their fundamentalist biblical beliefs, they practice the following:

The only television the family watches are wholesome family programming on DVDs, and various historical events. Internet use is restricted. The male family members keep their hair cut short (by cutting their own hair to save money), while the females keep their hair long. The children are home-schooled using a mix of materials, including those of Switched On Schoolhouse, Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP), and Accelerated Christian Education (ACE). For college studies, several of the older kids use the CollegePlus! program. The kids are discouraged from dating, but rather practice courtship, where all the meetings between a couple are chaperoned, and the couple abstains from physical contact. Also, the young man seeks permission from the young woman’s father to become engaged.
Jim Bob Duggar, who is now a commercial real estate investor, served two terms in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1999-2003 and was a candidate for U.S. Senate in 2002.

The Tontitown, Arkansas family will sign books from 1:30-4:30 p.m. November 12th at the IMAX.
