Hemp Festival held in Christian County
Hemp Fest was held in Christian County over the Labor Day weekend
Hemp Fest 2011came to the Ozarks Saturday.
The festival is one that celebrates the so-called benefits of marijuana. According to the organization’s web site, people were invited to… “Let us gather together in recognition of the benefits of hemp, and medical cannabis. The time is now to gather together and celebrate the benefits and many uses hemp and the marijuana plant have for our society. The goal is to raise awareness, and money for an issue we all feel so strongly about.”
Sevreal hundred people attended the Saturday evet.
People were asked to enjoy the full day of events as described by the organization.
“As the day passes through bands, games, and an all ages atmosphere. The night will be filled with sounds like reggae, rock, ragga-jungle, dub step, house and more with some of the world best DJ’s and bands on stage. When the night falls the sound will come up and the music and light show will begin. This will be an awesome outdoor party. Bring your tents, drums, frisbees, hackie sacks, some sage and/or incense and some glow sticks! Come to party and have a good time, no hating, or bad vibes please!”
Hemp-based clothing, jewelry, and food was available.
The Christian County Sheriff’s office said that deputies were at the event both in uniform and undercover.
