More than a dozen hot air balloons will fill the sky with vibrant colors October 21 – 22 at the inaugural “Balloons over Branson Creek” hot air balloon festival, according to event organizer Rodney Williams.
The event site is near the airport in Hollister, “Branson Creek is the perfect place to hold this event because of it’s wide open spaces and the beauty of the area. It has great places for the balloon’s to land and the scenic beauty of the area is unsurpassed,” Said Williams.
Williams hopes to have more sponsors and balloon’s in line for next year’s event that will be held around the same time. “Some of the publications for balloon enthusiasts are only published once a year and people who are passionate about getting balloons up schedule which events they attend a long way out so we want to make sure we have a consistent time of year.”
The event kicks off with a special VIP Kick-off Party Friday, October 21 at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person and include a catered dinner and a tethered balloon ride. There are some tickets available to the public - if you’re interested in attending you can reach Williams at 417-336-6060.
On Saturday morning the free fun begins at 6:00 a.m. with a Balloon Glow and meet and greet with some Branson celebrities. At 7:00 a.m. the hot air balloon competition gets underway. Balloonists will compete for cash and prizes.
