Illegal means criminal

Isn’t it interesting that Congress is discussing the reduction and/or elimination of “entitlement” programs and have yet to address the real entitlement program – federally encouraged illegal immigration.

The cost of harboring illegal immigrants in the United States is a staggering $113 billion a year – an average of $1,117 for every “native-headed” household in America – according to a study conducted by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
Groups that support immigration reform immediately attacked FAIR’s report and pointed out that it is the polar opposite of the Perryman Report, a 2008 study that found illegal immigration was actually a boon to the American economy. It estimated that illegal immigrants add $245 billion in Gross Domestic Product to the economy and account for 2.8 million jobs.

Wait. That’s 2.8 milion jobs that could be going to Americans! As for that $245 billion the Perryman report failed to noite that the vast majority of money earned by illegals goes back to their family in their real country.

The single largest cost to the government of illegal immigration, according to the report, is an estimated $52 billion spent on schooling the children of illegals. “Nearly all those costs are absorbed by state and local governments,’ the report states.

Moreover, the study’s breakdown of costs on a state-by-state basis shows that in states with the largest number of illegals, the costs of illegal immigration are often greater than current, crippling budget deficits. In Texas, for example, the additional cost of immigration, $16.4 billion, is equal to the state’s current budget deficit; in California the additional cost of illegal immigration, $21.8 billion, is $8 billion more than the state’s current budget deficit of $13.8 billion; and in New York, the $6.8 billion deficit is roughly two-thirds the $9.5 billion yearly cost of its illegal population, according to Jack Martin, the researcher who completed the study.

Now, I know many will call me “prejudiced” against the Latinos, and nothing could be further from the truth. The reality is, I don’t care where they came from, if they decided to come here illegally, they need to go back. Illegal is illegal and I don’t care if you came here from Greenland.
The working people of America are sick and tired of these criminals (yes, illegal means criminal) being coddled by a do-nothing federal system that encourages continued illegal behavior.

Talk of amnesty seems to be big – how about talk of deportation. I don’t want them here and please don’t give me the nonsense that Americans won’t do the jobs they do. Americans are quite capable of picking vegetables. Now, those farmers would have to pay the minimum wage, but honestly, have you seen the cost of produce coming down in proportion to the increased number of illegals? Of course not.

Honestly, I would even pay a little more for a tomato knowing it was harvested by an American.

I’m also pretty tired of having to pay (as a taxpayer) for the printing of government forms and documents in another language. If you are too lazy to learn OUR national language, get out.

For decades, indeed centuries, immigrants from all over had to learn English if they wanted to move ahead in America. Now, we want to baby these who decided to circumvent our laws and bow to their wishes. Am I the only one who sees this as a dangerous course?

We have even managed to come up with less-offensive terms for these criminals such as undocumented workers. Really? There’s a reason they are undocumented. THEY ARE ILLEGAL!

Then there is the outcry from the far left that many children of parents who came here illegally shouldn’t be punished for the crime of their parents. Wait, unless the children are documented, they too are illegals. So, ship them back too.

As for anchor babies, those who were born here because their mother ran across a border, well they should be allowed to stay. They are an American citizen. Ship the mother back though and I’m willing to bet the children aren’t far behind.

We need to stop, immediately, paying for the health care of illegals, suspend any driving license they have, never allow them to vote, and, well, basically, enforce the laws on the books, not make new ones for this “select group” of common criminals.

And, if you support illegal immigration, then you my friend, are guilty of a crime too.

Think about that next time you get angry at someone who robbed a house, or stole from a store.
Criminal is criminal.
