Joplin police arrested Texas murder suspect

A suspect in a 2008 murder in San Angelo, Texas has been arrested in Joplin.
Authorities arrested James O. Winchester, 43, Tuesday (11-29-11) at his home at 615 E. Hill Street on a first-degree murder warrant for the March 18, 2008 beating death of Kim Burton. Burton’s daughter found her mother dead in her home after she was unable to reach her by phone. (Read Probable Cause)

Investigators in Texas believe she was dead for several days before she was found.
Winchester, who is also being held on larceny and probation violation warrants, is being held without bond in the Jasper County jail pending extradition back to Texas.
