Labor Day weekend boating accident lands 10-year-old in hospital with serious injuries

A 10-year-old girl from Lee’s Summit suffered serious injuries after being run over by a boat on Pomme de Terre Lake at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police said Bobbie J. Brooker was riding in a pontoon boat when the driver, William G. Brooker, 28,  of Lee’s Summit, throttled the boat’s engines down, causing the girl to fall over the front of the boat.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said the girl was then run over by the boat and sustained injuries to her torso from the boat’s propeller. She was transported to Citizen’s Memorial hospital in Bolivar
