A morning fire destroyed the home of a Lampe family.
The Southern Stone County Fire Protection District said  the fire was reported at 10:42 a.m. January 16, on Ross Lane, Lampe. Dispatched to a residential structure fire.
First engine on scene found a single wide mobile home fully involved with fire extending into the woods.
The structure was located down a long narrow driveway. High winds fueled the fire and the home was a total loss.
The home was occupied by a mother and her son, They were not home at the time.[adsenseyu1]
The American Red Cross was called to assist them.
The cause was determined to be a warming light in the dog house. The dog escaped without injury.
There was another dog inside the home, it was never located. Seventeen firefighters spent just over two hours on scene. N
o injuries were reported.
