Lions honor volunteers

Last Monday night, the Shell Knob Lion’s Club dinner meeting recognized the efforts of a group of volunteers that worked on the Community Building renovation. Over 80 volunteer hours were spent in applying new sheetrock and painting the interior of the 40 year old building. The new look makes the building appear modern, cleaner and brighter. According to Ed Banks, a member of both the Shell Knob Lion’s Club and the Shell Knob Community Building Board, “The investment of fundraised dollars and these volunteers will pay off in more rentals of this fine building. We will be able to send the message that Shell Knob has a community building that belongs to everyone as it was a community wide effort.” [adsenseyu1]
Lion’s Club President Paula Andersen said, “Thanks to fundraising efforts by the Community Building Board and our Shell Knob businesses, Meeks, Country Fresh Market and individuals we have stayed in our planned budget and the outcome is amazing. As a member of both boards I want to thank everyone concerned”.
