Man rescued after falling 70 feet off of deck

Firefighters used ropes to rescue a Hollister man.

This morning at approximately 5:45 am, Units from the Western Taney County Fire District along with Taney County Ambulance were dispatched to an unknown medical call in the 800 block of Acacia Club Road in Hollister, MO.
When units arrived on scene, the subject was reportedly over an embankment and was not visible to responders due to the slope and darkness.
The Western Taney County Fire District Technical Rescue Team was requested to the scene to assist with the rescue.  A fire district boat was also launched to attempt to access the patient from Lake Taneycomo.
It took ten firefighters using rope rescue equipment about an hour to rescue the man.  The injuries sustained were significant but not life threatening.  The patient was transported by Taney County Ambulance District to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
The man had fallen from a deck at the home.
