A man from Puerto Rico who pleaded guilty in October to stabbing a friend at a Branson motel last June will spend four years behind bars.
Authorities say Zoan Gabriel Delgrado-Melendez, 27, stabbed Thomas Bonialla after a night of heavy drinking at the Polar Bear Inn. Bonilla, also of Puerto Rico, who was 31 at the time incident, spent about a week in a Springfield for treatment of multiple stab wounds.
Taney County Prosecutor Jeff Merrell says armed criminal action charges that were filed against Delgrado-Melendez were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
