MoDOT ready if snow hits Thursday
Weather: Forecasts show the possibility of snow, high winds and low temperatures starting at about 7 p.m. Wednesday evening and lasting into Thursday morning. The front will enter southwest Missouri from the north and sweep southeast, leaving the area by about 4 a.m. Thursday.
Areas of Bates, Vernon, Barton, St. Clair, Henry, Benton and Hickory counties could get 1 inch to 2 inches of snow. Lesser amounts are expected further south. Some freezing may occur on driving surfaces in various locations, starting first on bridge floors.
MoDOT Plans: Partial crews will go on duty starting between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. across the region and will be prepared to plow and treat roads if needed.
Crews will be out starting:
* 7 p.m. — Butler, Nevada, Lamar, Carthage, Stockton, Greenfield, Mount Vernon, Bolivar, Buffalo, Republic and Springfield.
