Monopoly Tournament coming to assist charity
Stone County OACAC will host the 3rd annual Southwest Missouri Ozark Mountain MONOPOLY tournament and “SILENT AUCTION”, on Saturday, October 8, 2011, beginning at 9:00 AM. The location of the tournament is Best Western Inn & Conference Center, next to Silver Dollar City.
Pre registration fee is $25.00 per person before, October 8th, and $30.00 day of the game. Your registration fee includes a player position at the tables, food and beverages, and a tournament tee shirt.
If you’re an interested individual, business or corporation and would like to sponsor a table or purchase a Monopoly property for placement of your name on the Tournament tee shirt, contact Cy Bortner at 417-294-7528 or email questions to Cybortner@gmail.com.
All proceeds from this OACAC sponsored event will go toward the local Stone County Neighborhood Center Emergency Fund. Some of the ways OACAC Neighborhood Centers help the community are by helping low income families set and reach education and employment goals, as well as, targeted coaching in Life Skills, Parenting Skills, Head Start Program, Budgeting and Nutrition. OACAC also helps with Energy Assistance and Senior Citizen Services. OACAC Neighborhood Centers have been serving Southwest Missouri communities since 1969.
Zana Schafer, Supervisor Stone County Neighborhood Center Says“ I am very encouraged that folks are already contacting the office to get information about the tournament scheduled for October 8th. The word is out there and players are making arrangements to attend. Items for the silent auction have already begun to arrive. Money raised from this event helps to assistant families in Stone County with needs throughout the year and this is a very family oriented way to help those families. We wanted to grow in the number of participants and sponsors each year and this year is looking great! “
