News outlets asked to provide raw video to grand jury in Kansas City Lisa Irwin case
Some television news outlets in Missouri have been subpoenaed by a Clay County grand jury, requesting video of interviews with the parents of a missing Kansas City infant and their neighbors.Subpoenas from the Clay County grand jury were sent Monday afternoon to at least four local network affiliates. The stations report that the subpoenas state that the Clay County prosecutor is seeking raw video of interviews with family, friends of family and neighbors of Lisa Irwin.
As a news outlet, the stations will have to decide if the will comply with the subpoenas or refuse on the grounds that such a request is in violation of the Constitution’s First Amendment.
