Police charge Rose with resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child
On November 30th, Stone County Deputies were attempting to locate a Mathew Rose, dob 3-14-82, a white male, living in the Reeds Spring area, who was a person of interest in a theft of a trailer from a storage unit. Rose also had an active warrant for Domestic Violence.
Shortly after 4:00 PM, Detective Maggard observed Rose driving a pickup truck on old highway 160. He attempted to stop the truck at the intersection of Old Highway 160 and Hwy 248, with the assistance of Deputy Boone. As Deputy Boone started to approach the truck on foot, the truck sped away Eastbound toward Taney County.
After a short pursuit, the truck was stopped just inside Taney County and Rose was taken into custody. Once Rose was secured, it was found that he had two children in the truck as well as another female. The two children were later released to their mother.
Rose was arrested and taken to the Stone County Jail. He is currently being held on the Domestic Violence Warrant out of Stone County, 2 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Resisting Arrest, and 1st Degree Tampering of a Vehicle.
He currently is being held under a total of $105,000 bond of which $50,000 is cash only.
