Police seeking information on armed robbery attempt in Monett

 

On Sunday 12-18-2011, at approx. 8:20 pm, Monett Police Officers responded to a call of an attempted armed robbery at the Herd’s North Service Station, located at 600 Cleveland Avenue.

A female employee of the business reported a man armed with a rifle, and wearing a mask, came in the store.  He told her to open the register.  She refused.  The man pointed the gun at her and threatened to shoot.  She refused to open the register again and the suspect left the store on foot headed east.  There were no other employees or customers present.       

The suspect was described as a male, 30-45 years of age, small build, 5’2″-5’7″ tall, weighing about 130 pounds.  He was dressed in black including a black stocking cap and gloves.    He had a rubber Halloween mask on his face.
