The Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams competed in the Class 3 District Meet at Bolivar on October 29. The Boys team finished fifth in team competition. Andre Morgenstern finished tenth overall in individual competition as he posted a time of 17:52.48 minutes. The Girls team finished fourth in their division. Sam Akromis placed eleventh in individual competition with a time of 22:25.87 minutes while Joey Ash finished thirteenth with a time of 22:27.22 minutes. [adsenseyu1]
By placing among the top fifteen runners in individual competition; Morgenstern, Akromis and Ash gained the right to participate in the Class 3 State Cross Country Meet to be held in Jefferson City on November 5.
The Varsity Volleyball team competed in the Class 3 District Tournament at Marshfield during the week of October 24. The fifth-seeded Lady Wolves defeated Marshfield in the first round of the tournament by the scores of 25-8, 23-25 and 25-23. Danielle Curnes led the way for the Varsity ladies with 13 kills and 18 digs. Amy Taylor added 10 digs and Hannah Gertson had 32 assists to aid in the winning effort. The Varsity team fell to eventual champion Mountain Grove in the tournament semifinals by the scores of 27-25 and 25-16. Danielle Curnes led in kills with eight while Hannah Gertson collected 14 assists and Sabra Boes led in digs with 15.
The Varsity Football team hosted Springfield Catholic in their final game of the season on October 27. The contest was also a District game in which the Wolves fell to the Irish by the score of 42-13. All of the scoring for the Wolves came in the fourth quarter as Ryan Pearman scored on a one yard run and Nathan Huston picked up the second touchdown on a 36 yard run. Caleb Asbill kicked the extra point after the second touchdown to complete the scoring. The game also served as Senior Night. Twelve seniors were recognized prior to the game along with their parents as they prepared to play their final game on their home field. The seniors included Aaron Allphin, Caleb Asbill, Taylor Crosby, Thomas Davis, Ethan Grinder, Nathan Huston, Jacob Lewallen, Ryan Pearman, Tom Porch, Quincy Smith, Toby Steinmetz and Taylor Tindle. Senior Cheerleaders Mindy Dohner and Emma Erno were also recognized along with their parents.
