Springfield Postal Workers to Hold Rally
A rally is planned in front of Congressman Billy Long’s Springfield office on Tuesday.
The rally will be held by membersof the United States Postal System, who are angered by a proposal to close the mail handling facility in the Queen City.
The closing would save the Postal Service aproximately $14.3 milion a year in salaries, but could have a $100 million negative impact to the local economy.
The proposal would eliminate 260 jobs.
The rally is polanned for 4 p.m. Tuesday.
