Suspect arrested in Taney County rape case

A man who allegedly raped a woman in Taney County last summer is behind bars in Tennessee.
Chattanooga police received information from authorities in Merriam Woods and Taney County sheriff’s investigators that Lonnie Pickle, 32, formally of Merriam Woods, was working for Covenant Transportation and arrested him at his workplace on Thursday (01-05-12.)[adsenseyu1]

Charges were filed against Pickle on November 30, 2011, following an investigation in which a woman, who had a prior relationship with Pickle, told investigators that he raped her last July.
Taney County Prosecutor Jeff Merrell, who was reached at home, says he will release more information on the case on Monday.
 Pickle is being held without bond in the Hamilton County jail pending extradition to Taney County.
