Turpentine Creek offers “wild” Halloween
The Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge is once again providing spooky Halloween fun with their Howl-O-Ween event, Spooktacular, Saturday, Oct.29, 7-9 p.m. For one night only, the refuge is open for viewing the big cats.
According to staff at the Refuge, a hayride around the habitat loop, fondly called the Trail of Terror, takes visitors past the enclosures where the nocturnal beasts watch in the dark.
The evening also includes food, games and a costume contest. The Spooktacular is a fundraiser for the refuge, and is a family event.
