Two structure fires in Taney County
On 11/3/11 at approx. 3:00 pm the Western Taney Co. Fire Protection District responded to 715 Clearwater Dr. off Hwy 86 for report of a structure fire. Upon arrival firefighters had smoke showing from a single family residence.
Upon entry to the home firefighter found fire between the living room floor and ceiling of a walkout basement. [adsenseyu1]
It took 15 firefighters from Western Taney Co. Fire Protection District and the Southern Stone Co. Fire Protection District approx. 1 hour to bring the fire under control. The fire started when flames from the fireplace seeped through a crack in the firebox igniting the floor joist under the fireplace and wall behind the fireplace. No one was injured in the fire.

As firefighters were bringing that fire under control the Western Taney Co. Fire Protection District received report of another structure fire at 310 South Fork off of Lakeshore Dr.
Upon arrival firefighters had smoke and flames showing from the basement of a single family residence spreading to the upper level. It took 30 firefighters from Western Taney Co. Fire Protection approx. 1 hour to bring that fire under control. Firefighters were still on scene performing overhaul at the time of this report and cause has yet to be determined. More information should be available tomorrow.
