VanBurch avoids court with deal

Three counts of felony tax evasion have been dismissed against a pair of Branson entertainers.
Just before illusionist Kirby VanBurch, 54, and his ex-wife and performing partner, Bambi, 33, were to be arraigned in circuit court a deal was reached in which the couple made a “large payment” to the state for failing to pay sales, withholding and consumer use taxes from June through September of 2009, according to Special Prosecutor Dayrell Scrivner.
Scrviner says the charges were dismissed dismissed without prejudice. What that means is that if the VanBurch’s do not abide by the rules set forth by the court and complete their payments to the state charges could be re-filed.
Details between the Department of Revenue and the VanBurch’s attornies are still being ironed out. Scrivner says that if both sides can’t agree on all the terms charges could be re-filed.
