Weekend arrest forces Highway Patrol officer to call it quits

The arrest of a highway patrol officer by the Missouri Highway Patrol has resulted in his decision to resign.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Andrew Rhew, a member of the Arkansas Highway Patrol, was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated and failing to drive on the right half of the road following an accident about 12:23 a.m. Sunday.
Rhew was fired in December then reinstated pending the outcome of his criminal trial. He was fired after entering the no-contest plea to misdemeanor negligent homicide but was reinstated again.
